A British teenager stands on the verge of Olympic glory after she pulled off a stunning victory over the world number one to make the taekwondo final. Jade Jones celebrates beating Li-Cheng Tseng during the semifinal (Picture: Getty) Jade Jones, 19, upset the odds to conquer massive favourite Tseng Li-Cheng of Chinese Taipei 10-6 for her shot at the -57kg gold. The fighter, nicknamed the ?Head Hunter? for her penchant for high attacks on opponents, was set to face world champion Yuzhuo Hou, from China, in front of a partisan ExCel Arena crowd. Jones?s cousin Ashley Jones, 22, said: ?It?s been amazing, an emotional day. I?m so proud of my little cousin. It?s just bringing tears to my eyes. It?s madness how far she has gone.? Jones hails from Denbighshire, North Wales but grew up in neighbouring Flintshire, whose residents set her on the path to glory by raising ?1,600 for her to go to the 2010 Youth Olympics in Singapore, where she took gold. However, there was disappointment for her team mate Martin Stamper, who lost his semi-final against Turkey?s world champion Servet Tazegul, 9-6.
