Justin Bieber's Baby Mama Song Joins List Of Pop Revenge Tracks

Michael Jackson, Rihanna, Pink and Justin Timberlake also have famous retribution tracks.
By Gil Kaufman

When it comes to pop star, revenge is often a dish best served ... with a beat. Justin Bieber recently told a gathering of British journalists that he's written a song
for his upcoming Believe album about Mariah Yeater, the woman who claimed that she was carrying the teen star's baby.

We haven't heard any of the lyrics yet, but if Bieber's tune is anything like classic retribution tracks by the likes of Pink, Justin Timberlake, Rihanna and Michael Jackson, the other Mariah probably isn't going to be excited about the shout-out.

Some other great vengeance songs:

In the wake of her assault by ex-boyfriend Chris Brown, Rihanna has jumped on-and-off the revenge wagon over the past few years, always keeping things vague, but biting. In her song, "Man Down",
and the accompanying video, a vengeful Rihanna shoots down her assailant after he sexually assaults her, singing, "What started out as a simple altercation/ Turned into a real sticky situation."

Carrie Underwood had payback on her mind too in her breakout hit, "Before He Cheats," in which she hits out at an unidentified philanderer by singing, "I dug my key into the side of his pretty little souped-up four-wheel drive/ Carved my name into his leather seats. I took a Louisville slugger to both headlights/ Slashed a hole in all four tires." Pink was not so delicate in her hit "So What," in which she snarled, "And I don't need you/ And guess what/ I'm having more fun/ And now that we're done/ I'm gonna show you tonight." That, of course, was written before she reunited with her target, ex- and now-current husband Carey Hart.

Speaking of exes, Kid Rock was much less delicate in "Half Your Age," which is a clear slag of ex-wife pin-up Pamela Anderson, in which he informs the former "Baywatch" babe that, "I found someone new who treats me better/ She don't bitch about things we ain't got/ When I sing this tune it don't upset her/ She's half your age and twice as hot."

Justin Timberlake wasn't as explicit, but he definitely left little doubt that he was busted up over his split with Britney Spears when he wrote the scathing, "Cry Me a River," which features the classic lines, "Your bridges were burned, and now it's your turn/ To cry me a river." Though you never really see her out on a date with anyone, Kelly Clarkson has more romantic drama than most pop stars, which she's chronicled in a series of scathing tunes, including "Low," "Never Again" and "Wash, Rinse, Repeat," which breaks new ground by not going after a lover, but a songwriter who did her wrong
.

The ladies don't have a lockdown on songs seeking payback, but two of the all-time greats are Carly Simon's biting "You're So Vain," which has kept listeners guessing for decades about the subject of the line, "You're so vain/ I bet you think this song is about you." The other is Alanis Morissette's "You Oughta Know," which strikes out bitterly at an ex (allegedly "Full House" actor Dave Coulier) with the lines, "I'm here to remind you/ Of the mess you left when you went away/ It's not fair to deny me/ Of the cross I bear that you gave to me." Taylor Swift has also made a career out of (almost) naming names, writing derisive songs about her former loves
and then sometimes letting it slip in interviews who she was aiming at.

And then there's Michael Jackson's "Billie Jean," a sparkling pop tune so catchy it almost makes you forget that he's dissing the groupies who'd hounded him for years during his time in the Jackson 5. Though he later said there wasn't a real Billie Jean, the song's refrain is a model for getting the last word with the lines, "Billie Jean is not my lover/ She's just a girl who claims that I am the one/ But the kid is not my son."

Beyonce Named Most Beautiful Woman in the World!

She's a 16-time Grammy Award winner, a beauty and style icon, a wife and a mother. Now Beyonce can add World's Most Beautiful Woman to her resume.

People bestowed that honor upon her in its new cover story.

"I have never felt so connected, never felt like I had such a purpose on this earth," the megastar said ... of becoming a mother for the first time this winter.

All other accolades and achievements pale in comparison, she says, to the love she and husband Jay-Z feel for baby Blue Ivy Carter, born Jan. 7 in NYC.

"She's just the cutest thing," gushes Beyonce, 30, who croons to her little girl and even professes to "love" changing her diapers along with Jay, 42.

So who does her daughter most resemble? "She looks like Blue," says Bey, who's already back to pre-pregnancy weight. "She's her own person."

"The best thing about having a daughter is having a true and unique legacy," she adds. "The word 'love' means something completely different now."

That's probably the world's most beautiful sentiment, but what do you think of People's annual honor? Check out these Beyonce photos and vote below:

Rashad Evans? busted eye and Mac Danzig?s busted ankle are your pictures of the day

Those short elbows that Jon Jones used on Rashad Evans, and the heel hook Efrain Escudero used on Mac Danzig did some damage. Evans tweeted a picture of his eye the day after the fight. Danzig, who managed to win his bout even though his ankle was swollen and ugly, showed how it was still bruised and swollen. He plans to get an MRI later this week to see what damage was caused at UFC 146. It's just another reminder that fighters' jobs are not like ours, unless your job involves laughing off injuries on a daily basis.

From Russia With Money: How KupiVIP Is Riding The Middle Class Wave

photo-2From a slow start in the aftermath of the Soviet Union, Russia is now Europe?s biggest internet market with 53 million users (compared to number-two Germany at 51 million), and figures from GP Bullhound and comScore indicate that it is also growing the fastest, at 14 percent (other European countries are at less than six percent it says). On top of that, a growing base of middle class consumers -- 15 million today, expected to double to 30 million in the next five years in an e-commerce market that is projected to be worth $40 billion -- has translated into a veritable boom in the rise of tech companies. But not all of that growth means big money just yet. KupiVIP, the Russian flash-sales site, is on track to make $200 million in net sales this year, on revenues of $300 million. Oskar Hartmann (pictured), KupiVIP's young and bullish CEO and co-founder, who I met while on a tour of Moscow's tech scene this week, believes the company will be making $1 billion in sales annually within the next five years -- pretty modest by the standards of Amazon, a company to which KupiVIP is compared, which had revenues of over $48 billion in 2011, but still making KupiVIP one to watch in the years ahead as it gears up for an IPO, possibly in the next two years. A story that Hartmann tells gives an insight into some of the trials and tribulations of building a startup in a country like Russia:

Galaxy S III teased on Samsung Denmark Facebook page

Samsung teaser

By now we've heard plenty of rumored details, though nothing confirmed, about what Samsung's going to be showing off on May 3 in London. And today the plot thickens somewhat with the unveiling of a new teaser image on an official Facebook page. The manufacturer's uploaded the image you see above to its Danish Facebook gallery, showing the date and time (in Denmark) of the Galaxy S III new Galaxy launch event. Over on the right is the unmistakable outline of a curved smartphone, similar to the Galaxy Nexus. The profile of the device is different to what we've seen in recent leaked images, suggesting those units may indeed have been Galaxy S III hardware in generic dummy cases, as has been reported.

No clues as to what, if anything, that plus sigh is all about. But if you have any wild theories, be sure to shout out in the comments.

It's coming, folks. And we've no doubt the next couple of weeks will be packed with more rumors and speculation (and maybe a fresh leak or two), as we await Samsung's next big thing. Keep watching AC for all the latest.

WPC updates Qi standard, increases inductive charging distance to 40mm

WPC updates Qi standard, increases inductive charging distance to 40mm

It seems that Power Matt just got a bit more, er, powerful. The Wireless Power Consortium announced today that it's improved the Qi inductive-charging standard to "include longer range magnetic resonance wireless charging." Effectively, this means charging stations that are up to spec will be able to transmit up to 5 watts of power from distances of 40mm (up from 5mm, previously) to Qi-enabled devices. The WPC says it's ideal for pushing power through the likes tables and counter tops, and that it currently has 12 types of compatible transmitters ready for action. All in all, it certainly seems like a solid step for finally getting rid of all that cable clutter at your workstation -- especially if it'll rid users of those less-than-pretty looking charging bases. Maybe a last-minute add-on to your Uppleva, IKEA?

Sony SmartWatch torn down and dissected, wishes it were a Pebble

sony smartwatch innards

Wondering how the innards of Sony's SmartWatch compared to the Motorola's MotoACTV? Wonder no more. One cmw has dissected the aforesaid timepiece, noting that most of what's inside doesn't live up to the superior hardware found in Moto's unit. Aside from finding a 110mAh battery (compared to 258mAh in the MotoACTV), there's also a Micrium uC/OS-II. For those just here for the eye candy, there's a bit of that down in the source link, too. When asked for comment, Pebble simply quipped: "Everyday I'm Shufflin'."

[Thanks, John]

Google TV's TV and Movies app gets to know you better with ratings, favorites and more

Image

At the center of the revamped Google TV experience that rolled out last fall is its TV & Movies app, which is a blended guide of content currently airing live on TV and available for streaming from the popular internet services (Netflix, Amazon, HBO Go). As Product Manager Rishi Chandra mentioned when we caught up with him at CES, personalization is something Google will be focusing on going forward and that's shown in the updated app being pushed out today. When it's first opened, users will login and be asked to rate a few movies and shows so it can get a sense of their tastes to know what to present, Netflix-style. There's more information displayed up front too, with expanded descriptions, and details below each show so viewers can find out about the episode that's on more easily. For a few more details on what's new and refreshed, check after the break.
