Confidence when Negotiating | Derek Arden ? Business Consultant ...

Negotiation

Performance Psychology

Confidence is key when negotiating. However so many people when negotiating, don?t do their homework. If you haven?t done your homework, you won?t be in a position of knowledge to understand enough about where the other person is coming from. Ask yourself questions about what you know, what you don?t know, what you need to know, how you are going to find it out, whether it is necessary to do a more research.

Apply the 80 : 20 rule, which says 20% of what we do provides 80% of the results. Does this situation meet that criteria? If it does do it / if it doesn?t ?- don?t use scarce resources on it.

If you always do ? what you have always done ?- you will always get ?- what you have always got.. So when you have done enough preparation that will give you confidence
